Teenage Girl Stabbed By Man Known As ‘Osama’ For Rejecting His Advances. Photo

A 16-year-old girl identified as Alero Eyesan has been left in pains after she was stabbed on her thigh by a guy who was said to be wooing her. The sad incident was said to have occurred in Delta state on the 31st of December, 2017. The teenage girl was said to have denied advances from the guy who is popularly known as ‘Osama’. The suspect was said to have laid an ambush for her as he attacked and stabbed the innocent girl. She was immediately rushed to central hospital where the doctors prescribed things to be bought for her treatment  which they couldn’t afford. . According to reports, the doctor said the girl’s chance to live is 50:50 because the wound has been infected and has reached her private part and if not attended to urgently she night not make it. . The girl is said to be in tears because of the unbearable pain, while the guy who stabbed her is currently on the run.

491 Libyan returnees land in Port-Harcourt (Photos)

Officials of the Federal and Rivers State Governments on Sunday received 491 Libyan returnees at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa. While the Federal Government delegation was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, the Secretary of the Rivers State Government, Sir Kenneth Kobani led the delegation of the state government. The team that received the 491 returnees included Immigration officials, NEMA staff, NAPTIP, military personnel and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Speaking at the reception for the returnees, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Sir Kenneth Kobani stated that the programme was strictly a programme of the Federal Government. He thanked the President for the effort in bringing back stranded Nigerians who have suffered indignity in Libya. He said: "As a state government, we had no choice really. Fire kills four children in Zamfara

The Department of Fire Service in Zamfara on Wednesday confirmed the death of four children in a fire outbreak that occurred at Awala Filin-Jirgi in Gusau metropolis in the state. Mr Abdullahi Jibo, Deputy Director Fire Prevention and Public Enlightenment, made the confirmation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Gusau. Jibo said that the house affected by the fire belonged to a driver attached to the Government House, Gusau. He said that four children, comprising two boys and two girls, lost their lives in the incident which occurred on Tuesday night. “We received distress calls from the area on the fire around 10.00 p.m. “Before we got to the place, the fire had already taken over the house; we exhausted four water tankers to control the disaster,” the official said. Jibo, who said that the fire might have been caused by power surge, urged residents in the state to always comply with safety guidelines, to forestall a recurrence of such outbreak.

President Buhari’s son now in stable condition – Doctors’ Guild

President Muhammadu Buhari son, Yusuf, who has been on hospital admission, following a bike accident, is now in stable condition, it has emerged. Yusuf, who was involved in a bike crash, on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory, suffered injuries to his head and limb. Following denials by the Presidency of plans to move Yusuf for medical care overseas, there had been speculation that the V.I.P patient would be transferred to the National Trauma Centre at the National Hospital Abuja. But President of the Guild of Medical Directors, Prof. Femi Dokun-Babalola, in a terse statement, disclosed that Yusuf’s condition is now stable. The president’s son who had undergone brain surgery at the Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja. Guild of Medical Directors is a body of private medical practitioners. The Cedacrest Hospital Abuja, where Yusuf was operated upon and is currently on admission, is a member of the Guild. The statement read in part: “We are saddene...
