Nigerian Army Orders Soldiers To Learn Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo Before 2019



The Nigerian Army has called on the soldiers and officers to learn three major languages in Nigeria before 2019.

The languages include Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo, according to a statement signed by the army spokesperson, Brigadier General Sani Usman on Wednesday.

It says that while English Language remains the country and army official language, the force has directed the soldiers to learn the three major languages to help their professionalism.

It stated that this would help in Civil Military Cooperation activities and investigation.
